Couture picks

Here are my favourite looks from autumn 2010 haute couture shows.

Elie Saab:

Alexis Mabille:

Chanel:

Jean Paul Gaultier:

Valentino:

Christian Dior:

Wouldn't mind having any of these gowns, no.

Couture: Armani & Chanel Spring 2010

It breaks my heart to see how commercial haute couture has become and I remained unimpressed by most of the spring collections. But I still managed to find some gems. Not quite in the same category as Dior, but the Chanel and Armani shows in particular looked quite lovely with their light colours and feminine cuts.

Giorgio Armani Privé: Chanel HC: I'd love to have any of the gowns, but the suit in the last picture is my absolute favourite. Fabulous!

Dior Couture Spring 2010

Christian Dior’s spring 2010 couture show today in Paris was equestrian-inspired. Horses are not really my thing (when I was younger and all the girls at school loved horses my feelings towards them bordered on hate and now I’ve settled on indifference), but I still found most of these outfits completely fabulous. And it’s not like anyone would actually wear them to go riding. Pictures from coutorture.com

Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010

Viktor & Rolf’s collection at Paris Fashion Week featured some wonderfully crazy-looking gowns.
These aren’t clothes, this is art.
I wonder if celebrities decide to wear any of those on the red carpet. That probably wouldn’t be the best idea. They’d be torn to shreds by the press. But for Lady Gaga, these are actually too modest and… normal.

Her style. Lily Allen (13)

Look at this Mockney chick now! All grown up and very classy. The dress is a beautiful colour and I also like the bright red nail polish. I wish she had chosen smaller earrings with this necklace, though.

I don’t like all black outfits and never wear them myself – it just shows a complete lack of imagination, doesn’t it? – but I’ll admit that she looks good in this simple yet chic ensemble.

I'm back

My apologies! I haven’t posted anything in a while. For the last couple of days I’ve been in Tartu, cleaning and redecorating the apartment I’ll move back into once university starts. But that’s hardly an excuse since I found plenty of time to watch random TV-shows on Fox Life and read MyLifeIsAverage.com.
When I started this blog I made a promise to write a post every day but well, that’s just the kind of girl that I am. I’m great at making promises to myself but horrible at keeping them. And it doesn’t even make me feel that guilty. Instead I just make another promise which I believe in at the time but probably won’t be any better at keeping. For example, right now I promise that starting today I’ll write at least one post every other day. Ish.
And I’ll start working on a real one right away. Until then, enjoy this amazing picture of the hottest couple on TV. My love for them has been noticeably fading since March, so much that the season finale made me roll my eyes instead of drying them. The episode plots were undeniably weaker the second season and what’s more important, Chuck looked far less hot than before.
But this leaked photo from the upcoming issue of Elle almost makes me forget all that. And kind of want to buy black lipstick.Picture from www.thehollywoodgossip.com
