I've been M.I.A. (no pun intended) from the blog for a bit because there is much action happening here in Charlotte. Today is the last day of Charlotte's Fashion Week. It has been so much fun working and learning from the other photographers, shooting runway and meeting new people here in the Queen City. Tonight will be the last night of it all and I am actually very sad. I will put together a collage of images from the exciting week for all to see, but for now I wanted to give you a little somethin' somethin' to hold you over...

When I think of a classic and feminine designer whose work spans across generation, background and all other man-imposed characteristics and values, Diane von Furstenberg always stands on top. I am waiting for the day when I can prance around in a couple of her wrap dresses and one particular floor-length shirt dress from her new collection.
I loved the Hush Puppy reminiscent loafers and the simple yet powerful textiles and shapes of the shoes. Her orange, coral and pink pieces are beautiful (& they happen to work very well with my skin tone :)

Definitely a designer who creates clothes that will last a lifetime, she is not only a phenomenal figure within the fashion world but is also a woman of character and a strong role model for young women to reach for the stars and want something better for themselves.

Charlotte's Fashion week is coming up and I feel it's only right I hype it up at least a little bit. I plan to attend the Saturday night show and am excited to see what the "top" local designers have in store. I'm attending a volunteer meeting this Saturday to see how I can get involved with the production. Should be interesting. I'll definitely keep posted with info. and pics. An awesome talent... A talent given from God...  Jasmine Mans, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin is more than just a poet, she's a modern day real life, storyteller, upsetting many by the words she speaks. I myself appreciate the depth that is her and I would suggest you check her out on YouTube.

A staple color for this Fall/Winter season. My favorite is grey paired with a hot-and-bright pink. It has also been brought to my attention, by a fellow fashion enthusiast , that this years hypothermia look on the runway seen in Doo Ri's show is causing questions among viewers. After some research, the blue/grey lipstick is a usual style in Japanese fashion and was used in the Doo Ri show to accentuate the grey hues in most of the line. It's all in art and it's all in fashion. And I feel is Lady Gaga can sit and accept an award with some red lace covering her whole face and have her dancers rock it out with lace panties on their face, Doo Ri can go for the chilly kiss face.

Photography can create a whole new world for those who find themselves stuck in a monotonous-and-mundane universe. The body is a piece of art and in this photo it is NICELY displayed. ;) While fashion's presence is somewhat felt in the above scene, the level of pure and natural art speaks the loudest! For me anyways... What do you think?

photographer Christina von Messling, who's very very nice by the way. A law school graduate who decided to pursue a passion for the camera. I met her during a random visit walking on Melrose, she stopped me to take a picture of my outfit. Glad to see she is making moves towards big success. :)
