The final night

Tonight's the last night I'll spend here in Estonia before leaving for France tomorrow. It is also the last night I'll get to see many of my oldest friends before everyone will be sprinkled all over the globe for the summer.
I added a couple of photos of my brother who's going to a theme party tonight. I wish my friends hosted more theme parties, I love dressing up. (Hint.) But dressing him up is nice as well.
By the way, as you can see I had a little hair colour accident. My hair was supposed to be pale blond, not grey. I look like an old lady. And one day before the departure, brilliant.
Mustn't grumble, though. I'll live.

Met Ball '10: Sienna Miller and Jude Law

I’m glad that Sienna Miller and Jude Law are back together, I always liked them as a couple. Yes, they’re both homewrecking cheaters, but they’re so pretty… Also, in a way that makes them a great match. And the outfits are simple yet elegant.

Golden Globes '10: Vincent Kartheiser

If you need a palate cleanser after all these wonderful dresses just check out Vincent Kartheiser’s hair. AAAAARGHH! (Here's a closeup if for some reason you want to do it to yourself.)
I was listening to Matthew Weiner’s speech and thinking I should really start watching Mad Men again because that’s what intellectuals do, and then I suddenly caught a glimpse of it.
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO VINCENT KARTHEISER'S HAIR?! And more importantly, WHYYY?! A lot of people were slagging off Colin Farrell’s hair on the night, but this really puts it into proportion, doesn’t it?
I’ll leave you with pictures of what he looks like looks on the show. About 13 years old, sure, but so much prettier.

Preggers

The pilot of Glee was better than most movies I’ve seen on similar topics and Fox followed it with an aggressive marketing campaign that seemed to be promising a truly mindblowing series. The following episodes all had funny bits and great song and dance numbers but the plot didn’t seem particularly strong.
This episode (the fourth one) was better than I expected after being disappointed a little with all the previous episodes. But it had its cringeworthy parts like all the versions of the choreography of Single Ladies (from "one of the best videos of ALL TIME"). I mean, the first one was kind of cute, but every following time kept getting more embarrassing. I admit that I know virtually nothing about American football, but was the dancing really necessary? Especially on the field. In front of people.
Quinn and Puck really brought a new dimension to their antagonistic characters and it was straight from the Gossip Girl handbook. The prim and proper mean girl having a pregnancy scare after drunkenly losing her virginity to her perfect boyfriend’s smarmy best friend – that sounds exactly like the first season when the show was still great.
Except being a pregnant teenager is just not an option in the world of GG whilst in this show they luckily happen to be one baby short.
In my opinion, Quinn and Puck really stole this episode, or rather saved it, because Rachel acting out every time someone else gets a few seconds in the spotlight is starting to get really annoying, William’s wife seems to be mentally ill – and not in a cute and funny way – and the romantic storylines between Rachel and Finn, and William and Emma were a bit too forced in the beginning and now seem to have been chucked aside completely.
Fashion-wise, the show isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but there are some characters with noteworthy style. I’ve already mentioned Emma’s cute wardrobe. Quinn, the kind of girl who you’d expect to follow trends keeps walking around the school in her cheerleading outfit (What is up with that, by the way? On Heroes Claire used to wear hers all the time too – in the first season at least, the only one I watched. Is this what cheerleaders really do in American high schools? Why don’t they change their clothes?) But of course, Kurt looks fabulous most of the time. Pictures from gleeimages.com, gossipgirlonline.com

Reversals of Fortune

I watched the first episode of the third season of Gossip Girl yesterday and wasn’t exactly impressed. At first I thought that I might be at fault here – me and my lacking ability to stay committed to one thing for more than a few months. I’ve found new shows that excite me a lot more and so I’ve almost given up on GG. But fortunately I’m not the only one who hopes the rest of the season will be a lot more interesting than this episode.
Nate’s storyline is such a cliché that I can’t even think about it without rolling my eyes – seriously, he meets a girl he likes but then it turns out that she’s from a family that is feuding with his. Chuck and Blair act like middle aged spouses trying to spice up their already dead marriage and please, Serena actually thinks that acting like an embarrassing famewhore will make her father decide that she’s the kind of person he wants to meet her after all.I love his outfit – the colour scheme is classic Chuck – and this hairstyle looks so much better than the one he had last season.
And I would love to own Blair’s hat. Even though I’d probably never wear it. Well, without looking ridiculous. Even Manbangs is wearing his hair up now. And looks as pretty as ever.Little J’s style changes more often than something interesting happens in her storyline. Okay, that comparison was a bit extreme since I literally can’t remember the last time that happened, but almost. The dress itself doesn’t look bad, and is something that might very well belong in Serena’s wardrobe. I guess the red lipstick is kind of an improvement from last season’s racoon eye make up, but this smile somehow makes me want to punch her. The jewellery might suit a crazy old art teacher better than a teenage girl, but what really makes me depressed is the state of her hair. It’s just crying for help. On the whole, it seems that she will never fit in on the UES.

VMA 09: Perez Hilton

I used to kind of like/tolerate him, but after this I just feel hatred. Saying things like that about someone who’s recently had a miscarriage is pure evil. And he looks ridiculous here.

VMA 09: Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé

A bottle of alcohol as an accessory – such class, Kanye
I’ve always liked his music, but his actions are getting inexcusable. Seriously, what he did that night was one of the rudest things I’ve ever seen.
One the other hand, Beyoncé’s behaviour brought tears to my eyes (but just so you know, that happens all the time). Later, the sceptic in me thought about how much positive publicity this created for MTV, for Taylor Swift and mostly, for Beyoncé. For the record, I don’t think it was staged, but I’m sure no one tried to stop Kanye from storming the stage because, come on, he might do something crazy again. In my opinion this dress is too loose and long, but I love the red lips and nails.
This dress reveals a bit too much - both cleavage and legs - but she looks hot and anyway, her outfit is not the thing everybody will be talking about for days.
