Weave from Hell

(this pic is the only good thing that came out of wearing that dreadful weave...)

As you can see from the title, something went wrong. REALLY wrong. My latest weave install is out nine weeks earlier than expected. Why, you ask? Well, because number one, I should have stuck with the same hair and supplier from my last install. Number two, I had a terrible allergic reaction to the hair that was supposed to be virgin and it was not! My scalp became terribly inflamed, red and itchy. I have never experienced that much discomfort in my whole life, I was in pain almost.

So, here's what happened. The first time I washed the hair it was OK. My scalp was a little sore because of the braids underneath but I figured that was normal since I've experienced that before. The next day my scalp was extremely itchy, even more so than normal. I attributed that to having a weave again for the first time in a year. No worries, right? WRONG! For the whole week I had the install in my scalp became worse and swollen. I washed it twice and I noticed that the water was running black. YES, black! Which means that it was chemically treated with some sort of dye. I had no idea that the hair was dyed, if I knew that I wouldn't have purchased it. Over the weekend, my scalp got worse and I ended up taking the weave out yesterday! I took that ish out in less than an hour, I was playing NO GAMES!

Even though my hair is free from the devil weave from hell, my scalp is still sore and itchy; I will need to take good care of it for a week or so to nurse it back to health. I really wanted to cuss because of this bad experience. Like, snap my fingers, roll my eyes and pop my lips while cussing--- I was that mad LOL! I can't blame anyone but myself though, I should have known to stick with what I knew from the beginning but I was trying to save a few dollars, which at the end of the day cost me WAY MORE!

Moral of the story, STICK WITH WHAT YOU KNOW and INVEST IN QUALITY. Shame on me, lesson learned x 2.

xoxo,
Alex
