Made in Germany 15 - Sylt
Author: lilisokeyAh summer! The season that was meant to spent relaxing on the beach - like here, on the isle of Sylt in the very North of Gemany. Summers are not always hot here and there's almost always a breeze coming in from the North Sea. However, if you're lucky enough to spend the whole summer, a week or even only a day here you are prepared for any kind of weather. If it's sunny and warm, make sure to rent a Standkorb ("beach basket"), turn it to the south, southwest or west (depending on the time of the day), pull out the foot rest, lean back - and enjoy. The hardier ones are sitting here even on cool, windy days, enjoying the different moods of the "Blanker Hans", the local nickname of the North Sea.
And if you happen to have anything German to share - whether it's a photo, story, memory, food, book, movie - please leave your URL in the comments and we will come and visit.
This is also my contribution to "Your Sunday Best" at Nancy's A Rural Journal.
