Birthday Bunny

I’m going to my friend’s birthday party tonight in a former casino. The theme of the party wasn’t clearly defined, but it’s basically black tie for guys and sort of sexy costumes for girls. Here are some of the birthday girl’s suggestions.

I didn’t rush to buy something off that website firstly because I’ve had a couple of mildly traumatic experiences when it comes to costume parties and my friends in the past. And so I really didn’t fancy (another) one of those:

Secondly, I was looking for inspiration in another direction.
This season bunny ears don’t mean pornography, they mean high fashion. I was planning to make myself a Maison Michel inspired pair because they look amazingly stylish and really easy to make.

But then I put the rest of my outfit together and realised that there’s already enough lace (my current lover) and that what it really needs is a pair of big colourful ears. Yes, of course I mean Louis Vuitton.

The bunny ears that are available in stores only come in black and are much smaller than the original ones. So in a way, mine are even better. They cost basically nothing since I already had all the materials and after watching an episode of CSI: NY, Gok’s Fashion Fix and Sex and the City I was all done.
Ta-dah!
Materials used:
Black plastic headband
Green satin
Green thread
Handicraft wire

I’ll post pictures of my whole look a bit later tonight. If I have the time.
