Protest Urban Outfitters

I personally have never liked Urban Outfitters but I have bought an item or two, but after this nice stunt... I will make sure I'll NEVER purchase anything from there. Look at the photo below and tell me what you find extremely WRONG with it...... *don't worry - I'll wait*
.... figure it out yet? Well if not, "Obama/Black" IS NOT A COLOR OR A CATEGORY THAT A COLOR CAN OR SHOULD FALL IN.

FAIL "URBAN" OUTFITTERS!!!!!!!!!!

The Rachel Pally STORE

Rachel Pally’s PR fills us in the LA designer’s upcoming pop-up shop, slated to open to the public on Thursday, October 22 in a 1,500-square-foot space at 456 South La Brea Avenue, just north of 6th. Expect Pally’s fall and holiday 2009 collection, along with discounted styles from past seasons in the ’sale loft.’ As mentioned previously, Amy Smart will host the private launch party, but Pally will be on-hand at weekly three-hour appearances to offer up her expert jersey skills to customers. Appearance dates and times are TBD, but the shop will be open Mon-Sat 11am-7pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm. As far as we know, the boutique will be around for a couple of months.

Church in State

The new clothing and lifestyle boutique in Hollywood isn’t officially, technically, ceremoniously going steady with the public yet, but anyone can go in if they just call ahead.

Owners Rodney Burns and David Malvaney are majoring in new designers and one-of-a-kind pieces. Inside the industrial space, JMary and Vintage by Coquette mix with Raquel Allegra, Diadem copper belts, and some stuff not even Sylvia has seen before, like Andy Paiko blown glass.

Kira Plastinina re-emerges

WWD broke the news that Russian teenage designer Kira Plastinina, whose “parent company, Los Angeles-based KP Fashion Co., filed for Chapter 7 liquidation more than six months ago,” but has 70 stores operating in Russia, will be reopening a shop on Robertson Boulevard and at the Beverly Center called K. Plastinina under new company name Pink Square.
Now, Racked LA reports that staff at the Robertson location said the store will be opening today, stocked with a “new, ‘premium’ collection called Lublu by K. Plastinina. Lublu, which means ‘I love’ in Russian, [and] is marked by higher-quality fabrics and a more sophisticated design sensibility…” (see images after the jump). Apparently, the Beverly Center boutique (with speculated opening date in a week or two), will stock the “standard line.”

Lotta Stensson boutique is moving

Women’s boutique/label Lotta Stensson is moving its shop from 7965 Melrose Avenue (west of Fairfax) to 8372 West 3rd Street (east of Orlando and right next to Cynthia’s).

In terms of Lotta Stensson, look forward to lots of beachy dresses and blouses, from sexy jersey strapless dresses to fluttery caftans. Think Malibu nights or hanging poolside in Palm Springs.

And in the meantime, Lotta’s having a moving sale at its Melrose location, 25% off new items, including jewelry, plus continued sale pricing on other merch.

Corey Lynn Calter: the woman and the clothes

First introduced to Corey Lynn Calter while at The Trend Boutique
her clothes always had a very expensive look to them although their price points never exceeded around $200 bucks. Her designs are very classic in style-and-shape and help with all feminine enhancement without adding anything "faux" to the equation. With some pieces she pushes the limit as her creations will make you look 2, 3 or 4 times at what you have encountered on the hanger but there's always a little something that speaks to your taste whether it's a unique bell sleeve or ruffle where the designer in you would have put a pleat. It's a nice line worth checking out for sure.

The Thread Social trunk show

This past Thursday, Thread Social had their sample trunk show at Beckley Boutique on Melrose and theses are just a few of the looks you can expect from the lines Fall/Winter 09/10 collection.

Be pretty in pink this spring in Rachel Pally

Check out more at The Trend Boutique. Also comes in black & green. The Rachel Pally line has been seen on many stars, one of which is Angelina Jolie who made the line extremely popular during her pregnant months. I like the dresses because they're made of a nice cotton blend not too heavy for hot days or nights but heavy enough to feel secure on an extra windy day. And for us tall girls, they always seem to be extra extra long. The kind you can wear heels in and still have the hard-to-find foot coverage.

28 Crash Vintage rocks my socks

"Modern vintage for an eco-fab lifestyle" What comes to mind when I think of 28 Crash Vintage is RE-creation, RE-innovation, RE-cycle, RE-duce & RE-use (1/2 pun intended) :D. The site is all about re-creating with a vision to better a garment by taking it to the next level. Change it up all together and present something 'new' to the world that once was something that differed prior to, if that makes sense :/ "We often modify garments to fit the modern figure making these sustainable goodies surprisingly wearable." Wearable art baby - what it's all about. Pieces are very reasonable in pricing including the accessories. Shown below are a few of my favorites, the golden slumbers dress, speed racer jacket, electric youth skirt, miss you much jumpsuit, 'I want candy' sunglasses and the 'annie hall' shades. Visit 28 Crash... you can thank me later!

Stars make their stops at the DALIA showroom

So this is what celebs do prior to a big event, & in this case it was the Oscars. Shopping excursions just like us "non-celeb" folks out there... finding ourselves in a mall, boutique, online or warehouse right before a big event - and sometimes small - when we want to see and more importantly BE SEEN. And of course something as big as the Oscars is NO exception.

Rumor Boutique was robbed for TWO HOURS

Early Tuesday morning, February 17, Rumor Boutique on Ventura Boulevard was broken into and robbed.

Around 12:30am, two male suspects broke in through Rumor’s front door and embarked on a two hour raid, wiping the small store clean of upwards of $300,000 of merchandise. Exiting through the rear and escaping at 2:30am in a 1995-1997 white Chevy S10

Blazer, the perpetrators are believed to have staked out the property for hours before entering. Security tapes at Rumor’s entrance and stairway reveal details of the two burglars (see below). Dressed in hooded sweatshirts both men appear to be in their mid-to-late twenties. Investigators from the LAPD and Van Nuys Police Department are working together to identify and question the suspects.

Store and website owner Anooshka Zakarian is devastated by the loss and determined to catch these criminals. “We are working closely with detectives in hopes of finding the men who did this and starting over. After something like this happens, there is nothing to do but rebuild and nowhere to go but up.” Though her life has been flipped upside-down, Anooshka is not backing down. Rumor’s online boutique, www.shoprumor.com will remain up and running.

We are urging everyone to spread the word and keep their eyes open. Anyone with information, please come forward and contact your local PD. This is a plea for help.

I'm sorry but if it took them two hours to rob a SMALL BOUTIQUE, I have nothing but faith that they will be caught within the next week! Sad nonetheless!
