Washing my hair these days is tough task and to be completely honest, I do not enjoy it. LOL, it's a lot if work! Since it's grown a lot over the past few months I have to now wash in sections. That takes FOREVER! I never believed the women who said they spent an hour or more washing their hair, now I do. Last night it took me about an hour to give myself a good wash. To make my experience a little easier I took down each section of my PS, spritzed with water and oil, detangled and clipped each taken down section back up. So once everything was said and done I had about 4 sections to wash. Although it took me a while to wash my hair this time around, I appreciate the fact that I did not end up with a matted mess, sectioning helped me a lot.
What I did:
1. Sectioned of my hair into 4 parts
2. Applied conditioner over each section before shampooing and detangled with a shower comb
3. Applied the shampoo directly over the conditioner
(This helps me maintain moisture and avoid that stripped hair feel)
4. Each sectioned was shampoo'd twice with warm water
5. Applied conditioner to each section and detangled with fingers
6. Clips were taken down after my hair was completely clean
7. Rinsed conditioner out with cold water to seal in the moisture
(Products used KBB conditioning shampoo & Suave's Coconut conditioner)
I really liked how my hair felt after my wash. Cold water rinsing works wonders for my strands and I feel like my hair has great elasticity after rinsing. The above will be my new wash regimen. Once my hair was squeaky clean I snapped a few pics of my coily mane, you can see those under the jump.
xoxo,
Alex
