Mother's Day

Earlier this week I drew a picture for my mother using aquarelle pencils (draw + just add water) to give as a gift today. It’s of Mum in a field of dandelions. And that would be a 2.5 month old me in her arms, screaming my heart out (how charming). In 1989. Frankly, it looks like cheap motel art, but fortunately I knew my mum would appreciate the thought. We went to see my grandparents and when my aunt saw me she said I looked like Viktoria from the new and surprisingly good Estonian teen drama Ühikarotid. And I guess I sort of do. Although the look I was actually going for was “quick, find something – anything – to put on, we’re about to leave! Oh look, I found this hair wax in the bathroom… Yes, I’m coming!!” Happy Mother's Day everyone! Or, you know, every mother.
