Today, I was reading Esquire magazine for the first time and found it quite compelling. My favourite article was probably 108 Things That Make Us Happy because many things on the list applied to me too. Here are ten that made me smile:
“Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Except polio.” Will from The Inbetweeners
Having a few pairs of socks in your sock drawer that you’ve never worn before
Remembering old TV idents
The men who look like old lesbians blog
Discovering your holiday apartment has a balcony
Sniffing a new magazine. No, deeper.
Finding a fiver tucked away in a jacket you haven’t worn in ages. (And maybe even a cloakroom stub that reminds you of a long-forgotten night out.)
Getting hooked on a book from the very first line
Having a song you didn’t even know you had come up on shuffle
Youtube: Greatest line in the history of comedy
From British Esquire (January 2010)
Yes, this is the cover of the August issue, but I used it just because I like it. It’s interestingly rough and surprisingly hot.
