It was really hard for me to force myself to leave the flat and go to uni today, because the weather was cold and wet and windy and there was actually some snow on the ground. Don’t get me wrong, no snow on Christmas is seriously depressing. In December and January the ground
has to be white, but there is no need for it in the first half of October, the same in March. Besides, you know it’s going to melt in a few days, so it’s pointless. There
isn’t even that much of it, you can see the muddy ground and the decomposing leaves everywhere and that really annoys me as a perfectionist. If there’s snow, it has to be thick, it has to be everywhere and it has to be at an appropriate time. Simple.
Still, going out was worth it because the French class was nice as always. Our teach

er is
so French. It sounds weird, but really, I’
ve never met anyone like her before. She loves coffee and cigarettes, has dark
blond hair and her typical attire is a long white top with horizontal black stripes, a black cardigan, black leggings, black and white shoes and big silver earrings. Casual, understated, chic. She is the person in the class I can relate to the most because she too loves f
ashion and fashion magazines,
Elle being he

r favourite. (I learned from her that in France,
Elle is a weekly magazine! Unfair.) Also, we are the only two people who said that when we travel, we pack as many things as possible. Most of the students claimed that all they need is a rucksack, and also, that hitchhiking is their favourite way to travel. That would be a nightmare! I might have taken three party dresses and two pairs of sparkly heels to Nice with me this
summ
er that I
didn’t wear once, but had I been invited to a glamorous yacht party, those would have been my only choices. Always be prepared.
I also dropped off my homework assignment in British Society and Culture today. It was a comparison of two articles on the same subject in a quality newspaper and a tabloid. I feel like I already did it in the 7
th grade or something, but anyway. I’m a bit worried because the articles I chose were about the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week where Lily Allen performed and that Katy Perry
couldn’t attend because of the feud between the singers. (
These were the
articles, by the way.) We’ll see what the teacher thinks of such a frivolous topic. We had to explain why we chose these particular articles in the introduction so I had to write about something I was actually interested in. Obviously, that narrowed it down quite a bit. But I think that at least the French teacher would approve.
