I watched the first episode of the third season of
Gossip Girl yesterday and wasn’t exactly impressed. At first I thought that I might be at fault here – me and my lacking ability to stay committed to one thing for more than a few months. I’ve found new shows that excite me a lot more and so I’ve almost given up on
GG. But fortunately
I’m not the only one who hopes the rest of the season will be a lot more interesting than this episode.
Nate’s storyline is such a cliché that I can’t even think about it without rolling my eyes – seriously, he meets a girl he likes but then it turns out that she’s from a family that is feuding with his. Chuck and Blair act like middle aged spouses trying to spice up their already dead marriage and please, Serena actually thinks that acting like an embarrassing famewhore will make her father decide that she’s the kind of person he wants to meet her after all.

I love his outfit – the colour scheme is classic Chuck – and this hairstyle looks
so much better than the one he had last season.
And I would love to own Blair’s hat. Even though I’d probably never wear it. Well, without looking ridiculous.

Even Manbangs is wearing his hair up now. And looks as pretty as ever.

Little J’s style changes more often than something interesting happens in her storyline. Okay, that comparison was a bit extreme since I literally can’t remember the last time that happened, but almost. The dress itself doesn’t look bad, and is something that might very well belong in Serena’s wardrobe. I guess the red lipstick is kind of an improvement from last season’s racoon eye make up, but this smile somehow makes me want to punch her. The jewellery might suit a crazy old art teacher better than a teenage girl, but what really makes me depressed is the state of her hair. It’s just crying for help. On the whole, it seems that she will never fit in on the UES.
