Her style: Lily Allen (1)

Her lyrics make my mum shake her head and ask why a nice young girl would sing about things like that and use such foul language. I find them brilliant. In general, I’d argue that the melody of a song is far more important than the lyrics. A proof for that is that even songs that are in an unknown language can be really catchy and enjoyable. The same can be said about songs with profound words about watching girls dancing in a club or dancing in a club and knowing that guys are watching.
Each of her songs, on the other hand, tells a story. They’re honest and relatable. I’ll admit that I find a few rhymes annoyingly weak (e.g. “you’re just some racist who can’t tie my laces“), but most of them are really witty. “Knock ‘Em Out” starts playing in my head when lame guys are trying to chat me up and “LDN” always makes me want to pack my bags and move to London right away.
There was a question in some interview I read years ago: Which celebrity would you most like to party with? And I think I’d choose her. She seems to know how to have a good time.
Some of her fashion choices have been questionable but others fill me with awe and envy. A few examples of both are to follow.

This lovely photo is from the March 2009 issue of British Glamour.
